Instructions

  1. Pour 1 cup of water into a small saucepan.
  2. Add 3 to 5 whole cloves to the water.
  3. Bring the water to a gentle boil over medium heat.
  4. Reduce heat and let it simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and allow it to cool slightly.
  6. Strain out the cloves.
  7. Add honey or lemon if desired.
