Description
The Dr William Li gelatin recipe is a simple 3-ingredient, food-based appetite tool made with unflavored gelatin, hot water, and lemon juice. Designed to support satiety before meals, it uses clean, minimal ingredients and takes just minutes to prepare.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin powder (Knox or grass-fed bovine)
- 1 cup hot water (not boiling, about 170°F)
- Juice of half a lemon
- Optional: pinch of pink Himalayan salt
- Optional: a few drops of liquid stevia
Instructions
- Pour 2 tablespoons of cold water into a mug or small bowl.
- Sprinkle the unflavored gelatin evenly over the surface and let it bloom for 5 minutes until thick and sponge-like.
- Pour 1 cup of hot (not boiling) water over the bloomed gelatin and stir for 30–60 seconds until fully dissolved.
- Add lemon juice and optional salt or stevia and stir to combine.
- Drink warm 20 minutes before your largest meal.
- For a chilled version, pour the mixture into a shallow glass dish or silicone mold.
- Refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight until firm.
- Cut into cubes and eat 3–4 cubes 20 minutes before meals.
- Store refrigerated and use within 5 days.
Notes
Do not boil the water as boiling can weaken gelatin’s setting ability. Always bloom gelatin first to avoid clumps. Consistency is key — use daily before one meal for at least two weeks for best results.
