Description
How to make a lotus energy drink at home is easier than you think — and the result is just as beautiful as anything you’d order at a bar or smoothie shop. This copycat recipe uses butterfly pea flower syrup, fresh citrus, and sparkling water to create that dreamy blue-purple color without a drop of alcohol.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup sparkling water or club soda
- 2 tablespoons blue pea flower syrup (or butterfly pea flower concentrate)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon or lime juice
- 1 teaspoon honey or agave syrup
- ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- Ice cubes
- Fresh lemon slice and edible flowers for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Fill a tall glass with a generous amount of ice.
- Pour the blue pea flower syrup directly over the ice.
- Add the fresh lemon or lime juice and vanilla extract.
- Slowly pour the sparkling water down the side of the glass.
- Drizzle the honey or agave syrup on top.
- Give the drink one or two gentle stirs from the bottom.
- Garnish with a lemon slice and edible flowers if desired.
- Serve immediately while the sparkling water is still fizzy.
Notes
Always add the citrus after the syrup for the best color-changing effect. Use crushed ice for a more vibrant layered look. Adjust sweetness depending on the butterfly pea flower syrup brand you use.
