Description
The Ina Garten chicken with buttered noodles recipe is simple comfort food done right — juicy seasoned chicken over pasta shells tossed in a rich garlic butter sauce with Parmesan.

- 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cubed
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 12 oz small pasta shells
- 4 tablespoons salted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder
- 1/2 cup reserved pasta water
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley
Instructions
- Mix onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss chicken until coated.
- Heat olive oil in skillet over medium-high heat and cook chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
- Remove chicken and set aside.
- Boil salted water and cook pasta until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
- Melt butter in pot over medium heat.
- Add garlic and bouillon powder and cook 1 minute.
- Add 1/4 cup pasta water and stir.
- Add pasta and Parmesan, tossing to combine. Add more pasta water as needed.
- Plate noodles and top with chicken.
- Garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan and serve.
Notes
Add pasta water gradually to create a silky butter sauce. Best served fresh. Chicken can be made ahead and reheated gently.
